DEFRA IS CARRYING OUT RESEARCH INTO THE WELFARE IMPLICATIONS OF E-COLLARS

The UK environment and animal welfare ministry, DEFRA, is carrying out research into the welfare implications of electronic training collars. They are looking at the physical/electrical characteristics of the products and how they work out in practice in the short term and in the long term. This research should be complete in 2010 but their conclusions may not be published until 2011.
